Hopefully the fact that we are supposed to be Sunspear-leaders-in-training actually means that in the plotline we aren't used as additional henchmen, while an npc takes the leading role. Might be too much to hope for that Mhenlo would actually follow our orders, though

She's the kind of girl that gazes at a guy, asks herself the question "Is he just as awesome as father?" and then concludes "Impossible", no matter how much ass he kicks. Devona will end up old in a house full of cats.

In Nightfall you are already not "The One and Only Hero that Saves the Day".

You are, atleast for the first part of the game, led by the Sunspears and you follow their every little whim like a good little soldier, and the NPCs you SUPPOSEDLY have control over, you actually DONT from a Story-side point of view. They are "Heros" themselves with their own agendas and are grouped up with you ONLY to fulfill their own goals.

i dont think mhenlo is going to get another girl in nightfall too, some of the ones from factions will probably carry over.

as far as mhenlo being in nightfall, it is all as i predicted. mhenlo, devona, aidan, and cynn are the main characters, they can't just leave them out. i'm going to like what eve has to say in desolation though.

You know, I'm not really talking about how cute Mhenlo is (he's quite cute), or how good his skill set is (it sucks, just like all the other henchmen). I'm not really even talking about Mhenlo at all, if you get right down to it. He just happens to be the unfortunate object of the Faction plot-writer's creepy obsession.

It doesn't matter how cute or skilled an NPC is, they're NPCs. They don't care one bit how cool they look in the plot. They don't exist. I do. You do. WE should be made to look and feel cool in the plot. Not treated like first-year students at a boarding school.

Here's an example that doesn't involve Mhenlo at all. Anyone remember this?

Three-quarters of the way through a Faction mission, the arrogant elementalist HENCHMAN says, "I sure wish we would've brought someone who could actually fight."

Togo, the kind master, replies, "Yeah, but do your best anyway."

Gee... I feel SO special now. Really, I do. Just special.

No kids I know play Star Wars and pretend to be that guy in the grey hat driving the little cart around the starship hangar bay. We all want to be heroes, not treated like noobs by NPCs that can't fight (or act) their way out of a paper bag.

Anyway, from what I saw of the Nightfall weekend (all of it), it looks MUCH better. Really, I loved every minute of it.

Sure I'm a soldier following orders, but I'm an elite soldier, following a grand tradition. I save a village in the first five minutes, and everyone is in awe from that point on. The only person that treats me like dirt is known far and wide to be a total jerk. It might not be perfect, but it's way better. I was really looking forward to it.

Seeing that Mhenlo, the undeniable SUPERSTAR of Factions, had followed me to Elona, just makes me very worried. I'd love to know what to expect before actually buying the game.

And, as far as the Mhenlo, Devona, etc. people being "main characters", so you can't leave them out... What?? Anyone want to explain to me WHY they're main characters? Funny, I thought the players were the main characters.

Silly me. I must just be old-fashoned. >_>

You do of course remember that nightfall will have the hench flagging waypoint system right? Just flag mhenlo into the middle of a mob of flamingos or something and let him die a horrible horrible cocktail party death fitting of the most worthless rez-at-the-wrong-time henchman of all time.

There is no esacpe anymore. Considering from a story viewpoint, when you travel between continents/chapters, your character already knows Mhenlo and his buddies at that point.
I doubt they will change how Factions story works for those who arrive from future chapters. And what's the first thing you see when you get to Cantha? Mhenlo thanking you, his old friend, for coming to help him.

So unless that changes or if Anet doesn't care about story making sense, Mhenlo's group will be in every chapter.

If NPC say something about your character, it not mean you but your character in Guild Wars. Same with many other RPG games, it is your avatar not you.

Our characters were merely shadows from Mehnlo in factions; I was fine with that, after we got to do something-you-know-what- with Rurick. I really like Devona on the other hand; Cynn just doesn't fit a main role, and Aidan ... does he talk? I do hope that in nightfall we play with the heroes equaly, shinning here and there sometimes. IMO, make frog nightfall's main hero =x

I always had the feeling like your character was part of the group that Mhenlo, Devonna, Aidan, Cynn and Eve were in. So they are the main characters along with you.

I saw that in Faction he was useing other not Word as he normally has Word in Tyria this could be before the searing.I see he doesn't use touch to much as a self heal like Alesia does anyway they both have the same skill bar at lvl20.
